Omega Launches New Timepieces - More to Come!
Omega no longer releases their new product at the Basel fair in Switzerland, instead they host their own show in Zurich called Time to Move. It was supposed to have taken place this February but was canceled due to the pandemic. The bulk of their 2020 offerings remain to be seen, but there have been some very fun launch’s from Omega at the end of 2019 and early 2020.
The biggest story to come out of Omega this year so far has been the re-release of the iconic 321 movement. It was the chronograph movement that made its appearance in the first Omega Speedmasters back in the 1950’s and early 60’s. They first launched the modern version of the movement in a platinum case Speedmaster only.
Speedmaster Moonwatch 321 Announcement
Earlier this year though, they launched a stainless steel version of the watch with the iconic movement! Although Speedy fans were very excited about this announcement, and the watch will most definitely be a big hit, it will be produced in very limited numbers and therefore difficult to get. I love that they added the sapphire crystal caseback to view this beautiful movement through, and pay close attention to the new Speedy bracelet. It’s a throwback to the thin design of the original Speedmaster bracelet which I would guess will be the same as the vintage style that we saw on the recent Apollo 11 limited edition from 2019.

In addition, Omega announced a piece that they designed with Daniel Craig to be worn by him in the upcoming James Bond film, No Time to Die. The movie release (like everything else) has been postponed until 11-25-20, but we are expecting the watch to begin arriving shortly. While most Bond Edition pieces of the past have been Limited Editions, Omega made this piece a regular production piece. We can't wait to get our hands on this beautifully designed and light weight watch being that it’s made from titanium.
Stay tuned for more releases from Omega as everyone begins to open back up. If the past few years give us any insight into what we can expect, the launch’s should be fantastic! Please contact us for pre-order information.
